Cleaning your automatics

What do you use to clean the build up residue on your automatics? We have two Water Wizards and the screens and backs of the machines are getting crusty.

being that water wizards are all stainless I normally use hydrofluoric acid-based aluminum brightener. This can be purchased through Arcadian under the trade name nu-wall, Quest sells Aluminate. Detailing and most car wash chemical suppliers will also sell a version of this. Just ask about aluminum brightener. HF acid is bad stuff. Please follow all precautions and do not let the solution dry on your machine or it will cause a permanent black stain.

There are some newer generation products that are not as hazardous to use. Arcadian sells C3 and Quest sells SAW. They are admittedly not as economical or effective but much safer to use.

Gotcha, Yeah I have Aluminate and use it to wash the bay walls, I was just looking to see if there was something else out there.

I buy low fume Muratic acid at home depot and dilute it with 2 to 3 parts water. Apply it and let in sit for a couple of minutes and the scrubb and rinse. Real bad areas might take a couple of times but this method is cheap and not as dangerous as HF acid.
