I just stumbled upon a cloth foam brush made by Erie for the self serve bays. This may have been around and I have not noticed it but it sounds interesting. I have always used hogs hair brushes but the lower price of the cloth brush caught my attention. Anyone using them? If so, how well received by your customers are they and how do they perform from the operators stand point? Here is a link from Kleen-Rite

I used them about 15-18 years ago and had terrible results. The cloth held up for about 2-3 months and was not able to clean the vehicles with any consistency.

You cannot get into all the curves of every vehicle. The cloth ends on the brush are too wide.

Customers started to complain. I would get better results, but had to spend double the time and still could not clean as well as the hogs hair brushes.

Go with or stay with the hogs hair for better cleaning results. They last longer, clean very well, and are fairly gentle to the paint.

I bought one after seeing it in the catalog - it's awful, too thick to do anything more than a flat surface. I can imagine if a big piece of grit gets under it, it's going to scratch the living crap out of paint. I see a lot of customers spraying their cars down with the trifoam and then using the foam brush on it, and I thought maybe it would make a good applicator brush for the trifoam, but there's no way I'm putting them in the bays.

I tried them 20 years ago with poor results. Bad in the winter when the ice would stick to them.
