Coleman Water Wizard 1.0 Top Boom

I have an older 1.0 WW from Coleman. The top boom seems to not be working consistantly. It wants to hesitate before coming down if it even comes down at all. Is this a Telco eye problem maybe with the safety eyes?

The safety eyes are in the cans on back of the machine? Its been awhile since ive had to work on this machine so a refresher from someone would be much appreciated.

I took over a wash with a ww 1.0, built in '04. We have an intermittent issue getting the "top boom did not come down" error. Sometimes it will go for weeks without one, then it will happen 7 or 8 times in one week. The are no sensor errors, and we can not seem to find anything wrong. It is different times of day on different size vehicles--no rhyme or reason.

I finally got tired of it going out of service with this problem. So I took stacking off the auto cashier, then I rigged up a relay that resets the unit after a 6 minute lock up of the auto cashier (out of service signal). Unit resets, and all is good. This keeps me from running down to the wash when we have the 7 or 8 in one week, and keeps the next customer from losing money.

It still does not answer the problem; but I have just learned live with it. I know this does not help your issue either, but it is just fyi.

Cellardale,

Is it the can eyes or the eyes that transmit diagonally across the middle of the gantry?

Im ordering the Telco eyes today.

Boom

Yeah, I had to replace both eyes and now its working great. The Telco eyes are to expensive to carry in stock .

I started using Texas Car Wash Supply in Houston. They have a nice catalog and kind of specialize in parts for Jim Coleman products. The most complete 3rd party site ive come across. You can download a free catalog from their website. Check it out and let me know what you think!
