I'm going to have a combination softtouch and touchless wash in one machine. How many wash selections do people with these combo machines do? My paystation has the ability to do 8 selections. How have you differentiated between the 2? Suggestions for signage wording? Thanks Bill

SW Indiana melon fields.
I mentioned that 8 selection ACW a few years ago and everyone wanted to have me carted off to the looney bin. Frankly, I don't think you will ever be able to simplify your instructions and selections so that the bulk of the customers can understand it. IMO, a combination machine is going to be mildly confusing at best. Many will see the brushes and assume it is a friction only machine. Combine that with 8 selections and I can't picture Mamaw and Papaw ever getting their car washed.

Don't do more than 4 packages.

Base Wash - either friction or touch free - their choice
Intermediate Wash - package with friction - Tri Foam
Intermediate Wash - package with touch free - Tri Foam
Combo Deluxe - Touch Free with Friction and Super Sealant

I'd do a 2 color scheme on signs and buttons: say green for touchless and blue for brushes. Then each color 2 programs.

(I am idiot-proofing a machine for over a year now and I feel this will go on until I retire... ;o))
