Anyone had success clearing memory on a Goldline controller. Sending it in means 3 weeks out of service. Or does anyone have a Goldline sitting around near Illinois?
Thanks all,

Why do you need to 'clear' the memory? Just program it to what you need....wash names, prices, token values, welcome prompts etc. The running counters don't even come zeroed out when brand new. You can reset all the other counters yourself.

It's locked up-no response from any programming screen says "clear memory?"

Hamilton says its dead until they or someone repairs it
Ahhh...thats a bummer. Sorry Zal can't help you. I wonder if you pulled the battery on the board if that would reset or clear the memory? Maybe Randy will chime in. I had purchased a used Goldline to replace one that was recently stolen and when I would program the controller and power it off everything was lost because the on-board battery died. Hamilton told me I would have to send it in but I bought a battery off ebay for $15. Its worth a try. There are four pins that hold the battery to the controller. Just pop it off, wait a couple minutes and plug it back in...maybe that will work. Good luck.

I don't think that's it but thanks for trying. It's great to interact with the fine folk on here that help each other out! Any one else out there got one?

Zal, I believe your battery is just to the left of the chip labeled GL ACW v4.0. Depending on the year, I think some Goldlines had the battery soldered onto the board rather than using the battery chip receptacle. You may not be able to remove your battery and like it I said earlier, it may not fix your issue. Please let us know if you figure it out.

Thanks everyone. I picked up an old Gold line, swapped out the control and back up running. I will remove the battery from the old one and get a new battery so I have a spare on hand. You guys all are great help. This is an awesome bunch of good folk helping each other out!
