I just bought a wash down the street from my current wash to keep a good operator out. I am considering converting one of the bays and installing two dog washes. All in, I think it will be about a $35k investment. I have heard of some good numbers from some operators that I have talked to that have done this. It makes sense to do this because this location only competes with my newer wash and dilutes my revenues there. Any idea of other successes (or failures) on dog washes would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Buzzie

Buzzie,

That's a pretty open question...my dog wash does well but I know of some that do not. They need to be set up right, have good ventilation, bright, clean and attended...if you do have or intend to have an attendant, then don't bother. However, your attendant likely will cost you more than you'll make with the petwash. But having an attendant pays off in other ways.
