I'm considering converting my two Wash Selects to dispense dollar coins for change rather than quarters. My current coin hoppers are relatively new and working fine. Is it simply a matter of getting new a new 'wheel' for each hopper or are there other parts that would need to be changed in addition? Any reason not to do this with the Wash Select? Thanks.

If you are accepting quarters, make sure they aren't setup to go back into the change hopper. We use the diverter to recycle dollar coins and our quarters and tokens are diverted to a separate hopper.
I am not sure what the default WS2 setup is. I have heard of guys just putting a small container on top of the hopper to catch the quarters. Probably a lot cheaper than buying the kit from Unitec.

SW Indiana melon fields.
That's what I did with my Hamiltons. I went to Walmart and found a perfect sized plastic container that fit right in the top of the hopper.

Thanks guys. We currently are accepting quarters with a slugbuster and they fall right back into the hopper. I can't see spending $300-400 per machine for the fancy IDX with diverter as we haven't had great luck with IDX the past few years. I'll probably just keep the slugbuster and catch all the coins like you suggested. Waiting to hear back from SuzoHapp regarding the hopper wheel. Their replacement wheels are $14 whereas Unitec wants $38 for one. I probably should have made this switch several years ago.

Have you priced one? I think they're a lot more than that :)
BTW, you can also order new selection buttons from suzo happ. You probably want to change the springs out for the stiffer springs in the WS, but they are just a few bucks each. You can even get different colors.

Greg you're right....they're $588 on Unitec's site.

Thanks to someone's post a few years ago I have replaced the buttons...several times already. I use white for my bottom two washes, yellow for my Rain-x wash and red for my Hot Wax & Shine wash.

I got the correct payout wheel from Suzohapp today also. I'm not sure why the wheels vary in price but the dollar coin wheel was $27. Still $11 less than Unitec.
