I've heard and read about CC skimmers being installed in Gas stations in and around Austin.
Never occurred to me that these idiots would try carwashes.
Well they tried mine this past Sunday, in broad daylight, while customers were washing/waiting.
All this just as my attendant clocked in for the day. They made off with the reader but weren't able to install anything.
They were parked real close to the POS so my attendant assumed they couldn't read the display.
They even played along and decided to move to the next bay.
Finally, after the wash completed they even tipped my attendant.

Bay 2 was the one that was damaged. They pushed/covered the peephole camera in the POS so it's hard to see what tools were used.
Note - it's entirely possible that they were trying to steal bills/quarters. However after 15mins at the POS they didn't touch any money, and the police also think they were trying to install a CC simmer
Attaching a photo of the damaged Unitec POS that is going to cost me $270 to fix now.
