Credit Cards in Self Serve Bays and Vacs???

I am thinking about implementing credit card acceptance in our self serve bays and vacs, along with the CVC card system from Hamilton. I have 8 locations total with 20+ self serve bays and 30+ vacs in total. The DAN system is currently in place at all locations, hence I would like to stay with Hamilton for all the equipment. Does anybody have any hands on experience with their system for the self serve\vacs? I would like to have everything in 1 meter box door without having to add the surface mount box I see on their website. Also, just curious if it tracks the cash deposited as well as the credit card revenue for each bay. I currently do not have any type of audit trail for the self serve/vacs. If anybody has any insight, positive or negative, please let me know. I know one negative is the price, but credit cards are the future, might as well accept them!

The D.A.N. terminals can replace your existing timers or connect to a Dixmor DX-2001 (or an upgraded DX-2000) and use it as a remote display. The DTI terminal can function as the sole timer; the DTT only operates the credit card function and still accept coin/dollar pulse inputs for accounting, so either way you get full cash tracking.

If you have room in your vacs to add on with the OEM kit then it's not too bad cost-wise, but $2,000 per vac for the add-on box is ridiculous.

I'll chime in along with MEP. I've recently installed DTTs in six bays at two locations and so far so good. I've wired them so that the coin box IDX display goes blank when there's are card swipe since the DTT box mounted along side has a display. When the washer presses the stop button, the coin box display timer turns back on to accept coins.

As for your audit question, with my set up, the DTT doesn't record the coins/cash that the coin box brings in, just CC and CVC cards. It does however keep a a perpetual total time on the DTT audit page which includes coin time and cards. FYI

As mep suggested look into the OEM parts for your vacs and bays if room exists as they are sure to be more cost effective. At least you have the DANs in place.

As for the actual install, they are pretty much plug a play once you have cat five to each DTT home run back to a switch that's connected to your router. If I recall I did have to program an unique ip address for each DTT through the DAN. Then they were good to go. Near instant activation once a card is swiped which is great -Faster then my gold lines.
I also had to update the dan software to enable the in-wall receipt printers.

Hope this helps and good luck!
-Mike
