Hi. I have an issue with the CryptoPay system/swiper device in one of my bays. I’ve searched the forum and haven’t noticed any threads along these lines. Wondering if someone here has been through this and could offer some advice.

Issue: Neither coins nor a credit card swipe will start a wash in one of my bays with a CryptoPay swiper. The timer on the meter face plate displays a static “FAIL” message. When I swipe a credit card it briefly displays an error message “V7.36” before going back to “FAIL.” The swiped card is charged and I can see the charge in my CrypoPay control panel. The device is connected. Inserting coins will not start the wash cycle.

I’ve opened the face plate and unplugged it and then plugged it back together. That didn't seem to do anything. I reset the wireless router and CryptoPay controller in the equipment room- neither of these seemed to help.

I have two credit card readers at my wash. The other one in another bay works fine. I installed them two and a half months ago. They both have worked well until today. This is the first and only problem I’ve had so far.

I’ve sent a message to CryptoPay but they are out for the weekend.

I’ll attach a couple of photos. I’d appreciate any thoughts on a solution. Thank you in advance.

We have a similar problem on one vac that has worked for years. CryptoPay says to remove coin bills and cc then add back one at a time. We substituted the Dixmor. So I will be following the issue and if we find a solution with post. Instead of fail it just says AUX.

Thank you. I followed the Dixmor troubleshooting guide and it does appear to be a bad timer. I removed my working face plate, brought it to my non-working one, plugged the swiper from the non-working one into the working timer and it worked. I appreciate the help and pointing me to the timer as a potential issue.

"FAIL" on a Dixmor timer is an indication it's lost power for an extended period of time. Most times you can push and hold both buttons on the timer simultaneously for 3-5 seconds to reset. You most likely will need to reprogram the timer. If it's happening frequently you either have a power issue in that bay or the timer is bad.

I think the issue is resolved. I pushed the "mode" button on the back of the timer and it reset and appears normal. The timer seems fine now. Thank you all for your help and advice. CryptoPay support also got back to me first thing this morning.
