CryptoPay error

Hi. I have an issue with the CryptoPay system/swiper device in one of my bays. I’ve searched the forum and haven’t noticed any threads along these lines. Wondering if someone here has been through this and could offer some advice.

Issue: Neither coins nor a credit card swipe will start a wash in one of my bays with a CryptoPay swiper. The timer on the meter face plate displays a static “FAIL” message. When I swipe a credit card it briefly displays an error message “V7.36” before going back to “FAIL.” The swiped card is charged and I can see the charge in my CrypoPay control panel. The device is connected. Inserting coins will not start the wash cycle.

I’ve opened the face plate and unplugged it and then plugged it back together. That didn't seem to do anything. I reset the wireless router and CryptoPay controller in the equipment room- neither of these seemed to help.

I have two credit card readers at my wash. The other one in another bay works fine. I installed them two and a half months ago. They both have worked well until today. This is the first and only problem I’ve had so far.

I’ve sent a message to CryptoPay but they are out for the weekend.

I’ll attach a couple of photos. I’d appreciate any thoughts on a solution. Thank you in advance.

We have a similar problem on one vac that has worked for years. CryptoPay says to remove coin bills and cc then add back one at a time. We substituted the Dixmor. So I will be following the issue and if we find a solution with post. Instead of fail it just says AUX.

Thank you. I followed the Dixmor troubleshooting guide and it does appear to be a bad timer. I removed my working face plate, brought it to my non-working one, plugged the swiper from the non-working one into the working timer and it worked. I appreciate the help and pointing me to the timer as a potential issue.

"FAIL" on a Dixmor timer is an indication it's lost power for an extended period of time. Most times you can push and hold both buttons on the timer simultaneously for 3-5 seconds to reset. You most likely will need to reprogram the timer. If it's happening frequently you either have a power issue in that bay or the timer is bad.

I think the issue is resolved. I pushed the "mode" button on the back of the timer and it reset and appears normal. The timer seems fine now. Thank you all for your help and advice. CryptoPay support also got back to me first thing this morning.

Everyone here seems to know these devices pretty well. We installed 12 readers onto Dixmor LED7 and only 2 of them are working. All of the rest of them have a timer display screen stuck on "COIN". If we disconnect the card readers and the bill acceptor and add them back one a time should that fix the issue? If it does not does anyone have advice on the next steps to follow?

Check to see if the crypto devices are on their network. Do you have the dancing colors? If yes then they are fine and the issue is the Dixmor. Sometimes a LED7 will lose their brains and just keep counting. Issue is always the Dixmor. We need to manually go into the programming mode and reset the setting that is causing the issue. We know our settings by heart but one can always compare to a working display. Does not happen often.

if you do not have the dancing lights then check the color/code for the CryptoPay error. Lastly CryptoPay tech support is terrific.

COIN” Indicates a continuous coin pulse to the timer from the coin acceptor or a shorted coin signal. Disconnect the wire from your added device to see if the timer starts working again.

When we disconnect it does work again. We are trying to figure out how to connect it and have it still work. 2 of them work well. The rest we are having this issue. I have seen a few comments that I should disconnect the coin pulse wire on card reader from timer, and remove the coin mechanism from the timer, then put them back one at a time. Does that work? Open to any advice on how to fix this issue.

I would disconnect the Castles U1F and if the timer starts working again. I know nothing about how Castles U1F terminals are connected to a pulse timer. Most of these devices are MDB and made for other industries other than the car wash industries. To which wires or terminals are you connecting the wires from the Castles U1F terminal to the Dixmor LED-7 timer? Have you talked to Castles to find out how to wire there credit card reader to a pulse timer? I've never heard of Castles before, where are they out of?

They are connected exactly as Castles detailed that they needed to be. As I mentioned, 2 of them are working perfectly. The rest are not. That is what is causing the frustration. We have reached out to Castles but thought I would reach out here as well to see if anyone has run into this before. Looks like people definitely have.

The 2 that work unplug the plug out of the back of the timer and then plug it back in. When plug it back in note the version number of the timer. Then go over to a timer that doesn't work and unplug the timer and note the version number of that timer. If it has a different version number that could be your problem. What wires did Castles tell you to connect to on the LED-7 Timer? You want to connect to the Yellow/Black wire coming off of pin #8 and connect the ground to the Green wire coming off of Pin #6, you do not want to connect to the wires that go to the coin acceptor. I've found that most of these credit card companies don't know car wash systems very well.
