CryptoPay Swipers and dial up internet?

Roz

Is anyone using cryptopay swipers at a car wash that only has dial up internet access? Hard to believe that some places do not have high speed internet service.

If yes, how does it work?

I heard back from CryptoPay tech support today, DSL is fine, swipers will not work with dial up.

You could get it to work, but your dial up land line would be tied up 24x7. You would simply have to use a modem that would stay dialed into your provider and have it plugged into a network switch where your coordinator is plugged into. It wouldn't know any difference.

DSL isn't dial-up internet.

I know you can use a computer to share internet access from one PC on dialup. In the 90's our office had one PC set up on Prodigy Internet where in any PC on the network tried to access the internet the one with the modem would dial out. I don't know if that would work with Cryptopay with the time it would take to dial out but it's a way it could be done.
