Talked to the cryptopay guy at the SECWA show. The one advantage is if you have cryptopay on the vacs it will consolidate the customers bill into one charge. It seems the biggest disadvantage to me is the loss of receipt printing of the unit. You can sign up for the service and allow customers to print their own receipt via the web. You also lose functionality of the built in card swipe for fleet or programming purchases. The cost is reasonable. The entire retrofit kit (including new door decal) cost just a bit more than replacing the unitec modem if it dies. It looks like a good retrofit in a couple of instances, but I don't see any real advantage in ripping out an operating CC system to retrofit.

Just got done installing the kit on Friday and over all I'm happy with it. The plexiglass cover has a nice clean uncluttered look. The card reader is easier to use from a swiping stand point and the approval speed (was dial up) is almost instantaneous! Which is great on busy days I'm increasing my through put. Install wasn't to bad only hang ups were my old double sided card reader holes were way to big for the hardware they supplied. Also, I had to find longer screws for my coin cup catcher. Also, finished my self serve bays today :)

we have had a little trouble on our wsll, with the direction the card goes, other then that, we are happy, we have it in our bays and its still new to customers, like our bill acceptors, its hard to get them to realize they are there and useable. I found it easier on the wsll to select the wash first then swipe your card.
