Cryptotap+ Pros and Cons

We have Cryptopay swipers at a couple of our washes and they have been great! Knock on wood, I've only had to replace a couple of swipers in the many years we have had them. After adding Cryptotap to all of our Cryptopay cashiers I was shocked at the percentage of transactions that are tap versus swipe...its got to be 75%+. This leads me to believe the majority of people have at least one tap card or use their phones to pay. Whether people have tap or not is not my worry because if they don't, they will eventually, and some kind of CC option is better than our current no CC option. My concern is how are the Cryptotap+ working for you? Have you had any reliability issues especially in cold climates? How does the QR code function work and do you need one of their services like fleet to use it? Any other do's or don'ts or things I might not figure out until I have one installed? Thanks guys.

Switched over last year, a couple resets due to connectivity issues(2), one tap out of 19 that completely died (was under warranty). QR code is awesome for attendant card, haven’t used it any other way. Personally I think they take up less space and make the faceplate look way better. All in all, I would recommend and I wouldn’t go back to swipers (honestly had more issues).

Thats awesome to hear. We have attendant cards for the swipers, how do you generate and set up the QR codes? Is that done through the dashboard? I assume there is no additional cost to use the QR codes? If there are any directions for the QR code function I'm happy to read them but I couldn't find any on their site or any videos explaining the process.

as long as you had purchased a set of attendant cards before, you can generate the QR code from that attendant card # on your dashboard. I copied my QR code to my phone “quick notes” so I can just scan my phone to start the bays. No additional cost to generate the QR codes for attendant cards.
