cutting water bill in half ?

Came across a four bay self serve with a friction automatic (an Istobal if it matters). This is the second owner. He says the previous owner claims his water bill was cut in half when he had a system installed to capture his RO reject water. Now I know the previous owner would notice a bill cut in half, so I don't think he is mistaken. But my question is how is this possible? I'm thinking the RO water used is maybe 10% of his total consumption. Any thoughts?

I agree, 10% savings seems much more likely. Maybe the other 40% "savings" came from a new car wash in the market.....

Something doesnt add up - I suspect there is some miscommunication involved.
But if not... if 50% of his water usage was RO reject, then his RO machine needs to be replaced.
Or maybe he also fixed a bad leak as part of the RO reclaim project.

Cut the water bill in half or cut the usage in half? There's a difference.

I'm a big fan of capturing the RO reject water, it's softened and de-chlorinated, just has a high TDS count. I use it for undercarriage and rinse water. I do not use it for chemical application, I use hot water for that.
