Folks,

Noticed a very small water leak(a drip) where the head meets the main body of the pump. Hardly noticable. It is a CW1541 on a LW4000. I have a clean paper towel underneath and it soaked it up yesterday while I was gone all day. A slow day.

What could cause this drip? Should I be worried? What possible fixes should I be looking to try.

Thanks!

It's either the low pressure seals or a cracked plunger. Service the seals and have a couple spare plungers and bolt kits on hand, and while you have the head off examine the ceramic for any cracks.

If there's any sign of water in the oil, it's almost definitely a cracked plunger.

If you have no parts for it, I'd order three of the kit 939 for each manifold. I don't remember what they recommend or what's really necessary for replacing the brass parts in the manifold, but I usually reuse them as long as they aren't noticeably pitted. Bare minimum repair would need six of each of the parts 54, 56, 58, 67, 70, and I'd recommend replacing the valve o-rings and back-up rings (3 and 69) with the reseal. You should keep a couple spare plungers and at least one bolt kit (kit 74), and if there's any sign of water in the oil replace the bolts on all the plungers, as well as the oil seals (32) while you have the heads and plungers off.
