Have been running the old 5000 for a few weeks now. Weather turned cold and I turned on the blow down function and went out of town. upon returning I noticed foam above the presoak tank. Later determined when blowing down, air bubble are back feeding to presoak tank. No problem for now as its warmer and I turned off the blow down. did a test run after fixing a couple leaks and attmepting to fix the next issue I will post, and now very little (almost none) presoak getting to the machine and presoak tank filles with bubble bath while presoak cycle is active. I figure there is a bad check valve somehere. any hints as to where?

Second problem, we seem to not have a high pressure rinse cycle when we program teh "clear coat" which for us is JBS Samuri sheild. the problem is it comes out a litte foamy and does not get rinsed.. Ive had customers go use a SS bay after the IBA to finish rinsing. the only acutral rinse seems to be spot free.

TIA for any help I may get. so far this forum has been extreemly helpful thanks to a couple expereince D&S 5000 members.

Yes, the blowdown likely is backflowing where it meets up with the water manifold due to that check valve failing. Follow the blowdown air hose to where it meets up with other plumbing and the check valve will be there. It has pushed backward into the tank and caused the presoak pump to loose prime. Probably need to burp the pump now.

Have you tried tipping down the wax? If you have a good spot free after a high pressure wax, you shouldn't have rinsing problems on a DS5000. Most have a 'too much spot free' problem...

Ok, guessing that check valve is in the octopus living in the trough on the roof. was afraid of that. Thanks!

The presoak pump will lose prime when the air blows back through it like is happening, and it can't reprime against the air pressure when the presoak is trying to apply. I usually add a union to the outlet of the pump, then if it loses prime you just unscrew the union and gravity will prime it. You could add a check valve to the outlet while you have it apart. There may be one on each solenoid at the pump already, one of which would be bad.

There should be an option in the controller to turn on a high-pressure pass after the wax is applied.

Thanks that makes sense. everything was fine till I turned on the blow down during the freeze we had a couple weeks ago. I don't seem to have a choice to turn on a pressure pass that isn't already used. I have the best wash programmed with Low PH presoak, HI Pressure Hi PH presoak as the "hp soap" I have the JBS Samuri on the "clearcoat" cycle and then spot free rinse. this is with everyting on except A Alkaline which I do not have a tank for.
