My D&S 5000 wants to wash cars again, but always runs same (basically all) functions regardless of wash level selected.
I have gone through the programming of default washes per the manual. My machine has tri foam, but that is not in the program so I am trying to figure out which function it is tied to. It runs on all washes and is supposed to be only the top wash.

Also I noticed the battery light never lights on the PLC. Is this the normal state, or should there be green light. maybe I am loosing the program due to dead battery?

the wash sat unused for 4 years. but it seems there was still at least one program the PLC runs when asked.

I'd start by checking the wires from the auto cashier to make sure someone didn't just hook all the selections to one wash cycle. That part should be very easy.

The PLC won't lose the base programming, it will only reset the custom wash setup to default, and it will do that every time the power is cycled. If you have the display with buttons, press right-arrow until the cursor is showing four zeroes with the first one flashing, press up to change to 3, press right arrow twice (The second number is zero), change the third to 7 and the fourth to 1 as you go, press Enter (Green button IIRC) then it should go straight to "Choose default or custom wash". Select Custom with up-arrow, then press right-arrow until it shows Return to Menu" and press green button. That will set it to whatever custom menu has been set up. Use these same instructions if you need to to customize each wash level if necessary.

I think the battery light just indicates the presence of an external battery to store the custom wash selected.

Thanks. Looks like I got it. today my enter lights would flash, then stop then flash a few times. found a couple bad connections on the test panel switches, mostly the stop button. then reprogrammed again. read the manual on the Goldline and finished the cryptopay retrofit and bought myself a base wash and that is what the machine did, then did the top wash and it too was correct.
