I purchased a Dilling & Harris pumping plant for the purpose of upgrading an existing wash. The control box has relays mounted on a black box that contains a circuit board (one for each bay). I have no Idea what purpose this relay and box serves. If somebody can explain the purpose of the relay and box it would be appreciated. The plant also has two regulators (one regulator has a solenoid connected to it). I figured this must be the medium pressure presoak & spot free rinse. My wash is uses gravity fed hot & cold water, therefore, I was thinking of re-plumbing the plant to use gravity fed hot and cold water and at the same time gut all the specialized electronics. The plan is to use my existing meter boxes (Digital timer, rotary switch, and slugbuster). Am I proceeding in the right direction or should I consider using the existing electronics?

I'd gut the electronics and remove the extra plumbing you don't need. With it being D/H equipment, the extra solenoid and regulator is probably for spot-free. It's a terrible design because even the bays closest to the equipment room will have a half-minute changeover time.

Are you asking about the MX-12 or MX-8 box? The one with wires connecting to each solenoid that controls different chemicals?

It might be the GinSan equivalent to the MX-8. If he's using only the high-pressure part of the equipment he's likely already got the controls in place for the low-pressure stuff and would just need to run wires out to them. There are so many styles of their equipment over the years I wouldn't want to guess at what he's talking about without seeing pictures.
