I am considering adding doors to the touchless automatics. Any suggestions? Any used doors for sale?

Thanks

Doors help you in the following ways that I can think of. Less weep water, more potential days to wash, less labor of opening and closing the wash, less floor heat cost, fewer freeze ups, more reliable operation. We had no doors and then got them. Unbelievable difference. I would recommend buying whatever kind of doors you can get local service on and parts for.

I have Airlift Extremes, and I love them!! They are a bit noisy when windy, but fast, smooth and people like them they look great.

i have aluminum skinned insulated doors with mechanical operators.

my suggestion with this type of door is to locate the operator in a dry area and couple the shaft to the door (jackshaft style).

doors are great but they are another piece of equipment with many moving parts.

I keep mine running by lubing rollers, hinges, etc throughout the year then daily in winter.

I use heat tapes (raytherm cable) for tracks of door on entry side at my wash (north side/colder)

I used to have metal doors, with mechanical operators in dry areas. Like Waxman said, lot's of parts and things to do to keep things working. Chains, sprockets, bearings....etc.

The ONLY thing I do with my Wyndstar doors, is take the hood down once a year (takes 2 minutes).....I grease the bearings...and then replace the hood.

I also added electric heat tapes to the backsides of the vertical guides. I only need to plug them in on killer days when it's below about 25F.

The amount of time I spend (now) on doors has gone from an 8 to a zero.
