why would you want to change to steel? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose? The lovejoy in my opinion suppose to protect the motor if the gearbox fails or vice versa? I rather replace lovejoy than the motor or gearbox. But then again what do i know, my brush motor burnt, shaft sheared and lovejoy is still in good condition
... from what i learned if motor and gearbox not aligned/leveled therefore the lovejoy tears up??? just an assumption.
