I was there in September and I din't see one stop sign in the country. There are none. They do have light in the major cities. Why I don't know, as no one pays attention to them. During one bus ride, we went all the way into the open left turn lane to turn right in front of the three lanes going straight. If you drive there, you have to drive with conviction.
That is strange, as I was in Viet Nam, there also were no stop signs and only a few red lights, but the traffic flow, mainly bikes and motorcycles, but plenty of cars and trucks, intersected and merged perfectly. I never saw a near miss or anything, everyone was very polite and it seemed like a dance almost.
Holy crap! This video does nothing to debunk the myth that Chinese people are bad drivers, but seriously is anybody paying attention? They all look like they are driving, bikes and scooters included, like they are the only vehicle on the road. I really like the guy on a bike who gets nailed, gets up and walks over to the car too see what damage he did. If that was here he would have been up on the hood jumping up and down, screaming at the driver.
And these are the geniuses that are supposed to take over the world???
