We are using Cryptopay in our self serve and dog wash with no issues. However, now with MasterCard changes etc that will require new modems for Wash Select II's, I am considering installing Cpay in our IBA. The outrageous cost of the modem from Unitec makes Cryptopay much more attractive as an alternative. Plus, I can eliminate a phone line.

My concern is how easy is it to use from a customer's perspective with the swiper installed on the door of the Wash Select II? I am worried it will be difficult to actually slide the card in the reader creating a point of frustration when trying to swipe a card from your car/truck/van.

Am I worrying over a non issue? What are you experiencing?

I installed it on a Wash Select at my new location. There are a couple of things that I don't like about it.

1. Until they learn, customers aren't sure which way the magnetic strip faces even though it says it on the decal they send with the kit. Its not very clear on their graphics.

2. When you swipe your card the Wash Select doesn't tell you "verifying card" so customers keep swiping over and over until they notice the display showing verifying.

3. Sometimes customers can swipe their card over and over and it won't work. The next person can swipe their card and it will work fine. I have talked to cryptopay about this issue and they think it is the customers card. It just sucks to loose those few customers that might have a scratch on their card. (The panasonic dual side readers on the wash selects seems to read every card.)

That being said, Cryptopay's customer service is great and I plan on installing it at my other location on that Wash Select because of the same problem with MC. I have a dial up modem there.
