Any body use this for keeping their roof trough warm? I have 5watt per foot 120v available for purchase. If this is on my hose and poly or wrapped around it will it melt or damage the hose and poly tube? Someone suggested 3 watt per foot. I am new to this. Just want something that won't damage my hoses and poly. Any help would be great!

A lot of us here use Raychem Wintergard Wet heat cable...It runs about 7w per foot. Mine gets to about 110-115° and lays right against my LLDPE tubing....Its been installed about 3 years now with no issues...

Been using Raychem winter guard wet for 20 years at some locations and +10 at others. Never a problem yet.
