Electrical push button question

What type of contacts would a push button switch be required to have in the following scenario:

1. Power is activated to equipment. For instance, a bay turns on.
2. Push a button in (it pops back out) to turn off power.
3. Process can now be repeated.

Would that be a normally closed contact? momentary? I'm confused over all the choices:confused:

Normally closed momentary contact. You got it right.:)

It really depends on the circuit. With a latching relay, you'd use a normally-closed momentary contact swicth to turn it back off. The latching power would go through the switch and pressing it would interrupt the power to the relay coil, turning it off.
