Unlock the door, then do a quick equipment room check and a walkthrough.

We leave the house at 0430. When we get to about a ½ a block from the car wash I begin to look to see what’s messed up, missing and when I pull in I quickly scan the area to make sure the area is safe to get out of the car. Unlike some one here on the forum we actually own and operate car washes.

What do you carry? From your words I'd keep an AR in the car too..

Circle through the lot before I park. I look for fresh break-ins and who is there.

I do visual check and see what is the most glaring thing to standout and fix it first. Otherwise swap out the free towels so I can get a batch in the washer, that way they get washed while I am cleaning bays etc. so I can get them in the dryer before I head to the next wash.

Say a prayer before pulling in. Then scan my wash like a Hawk. Look/hang vac hoses and cuffs, dirty SS bays, the lot overall make sure my clean up guy did his part night before. Then Check change machines and PDQ report, water leaks in both EQ rooms. If I have time check all bays & vacs with quarters test all functions. I think a SS operator just trains himself over years of repetition to spot things the public would never notice. Like vac hoses has to be hung a certain way to a perfect 2 loop circle, all foamy brush heads facing out no trash nowhere. It just sticks out like a sore thumb soon as we pull in the parking lot
