Finding wash site rehab contractors

So the wash I work at is located in southern vermont and has three touchless IBA's and a Self Serve bay. The site is going on 15 years old and the building is cinder block. The machines are getting long in the tooth and will need to be replaced soon. Due to the age of the building the FRP no longer repels dirt and is hard to keep clean and the windows between the bays need to be replaced as the seals and mullions are shot.

It seems logical to do the building upgrades in coordination with the new wash equipment and it is my understanding that I need a general contractor for the building upgrades.

Anyone have useful advise on how to find contractors familiar with car wash environment or any other practical advise?

Thanks in advance,

Depending on the upgrades your doing and size of the project I would go direct to contractors rather then use a GC. If the project is smaller usually their expertise and ability to save money on subs isn’t worth it.

Generally if you find the right contractors with experience they won’t need car wash experience, just be sure to explain the environment and concerns.

Send me a PM and I might be able to help you out. I’m in North Central MA, so not too far from you. The contractor I use is in New Ipswich, NH and has done 4 projects for me and he has built many carwashes in New England.
