I want to make special pricing for fleet accounts. I'm trying to figure out how much of a discount I should give and what breakdowns.Currently if an account spends 250$ or more we will give them a 15% discount. I was thinking if an account spent 500$ maybe a 25% discount? I also have County accounts that spend 1500$ a month were should the cap be? Thanks:confused:

When I was the General Manager of a chain of washes we gave municipalities and government vehicles a set price regardless of the amount. We knew we would easily reach any minimums since we washed the police cars almost daily and county cars once or twice a week.

We did a lot of off site selling for commercial accounts dealing with anything from Realtors to limo companies to taxi companies to apartment and business complexes. We intentionally avoided new used car dealers due to payment problems and abuse of the privilege but usually offered discounts on a pay as you go basis. There were some dealer exceptions but not many.

For most commercial accounts we gave them an initial discount normally of up to 10 % based on the wash they selected and set mutually agreed upon progressive discounts based both a minimum volume and the wash they were using. We established each account on a different basis. In some cases commercial accounts selected a basic wash and on others they chose a package wash.

All commercial accounts were required to be paid within 10 days after the end of the month. Occasionally we had payment problems but overall it was worth the effort. I think the key was to be flexible to meet the individual account needs while getting a fair price for the service provided.

We bill municipal accounts at a set price.

All other bulk accounts get prepaid wash tickets. Minimum 100 to get a 15% discount. Having them prepay eliminates much of the collection bookkeeping issue and helps justify the discount.

One way I convince them it's worth it is that it's easier for them to control as well. No employees coming with their own cars or issue with anyone signing that shouldn't. Thye can have one person they trust control the tickets.

Here is another option - it gives the customer two choices for how they want to handle the billing. BTW - this is not my wash policy - it is a friend of mine who did not mind me sharing.

Many multi-vehicle businesses are finding it convenient to wash their cars and vans at our Car Wash. Our custom designed vehicle cleaning procedure improves the visual image for business and helps protect the value of your fleet. With our fleet washing programs, there is no longer a reason for you to have an image-destroying dirty vehicle. Now you can keep your vehicles in top shape quickly and easily. Below are the options available.

Option #1 - Fleet Book

You may purchase our Fleet book for $180.00. This book has 25 Regular Wash Coupons and the cost is only $7.20 per wash.
(Retail value: $225.00, saving you $45.00)

Option #2 - Monthly Billing

If you prefer monthly billing, we have 2 ways in which we bill. Monthly billing is designed to allow your employees to go through the car wash at any time. There is a sign-up sheet at all of our car wash locations and when one of your cars comes in to be washed the driver signs, puts the time, and license plate number of the vehicle on the sheet. At the end of the month you will be billed. Our billing terms are Net 15 days.
If you wash 25-50 cars per month the billed amount would be $8.00 per Regular Car Wash.
If you wash 50-75 cars per month the billed amount would be $7.50 per Regular Car Wash.
We do not bill for any less than 25 cars per month unless prior arrangements have been made.
