Those of you who are using only one product for your entrance body foam application/brush lube in a friction system, are you using a ph balanced product, hi ph or low ph? How hi or low?

I'm talking after and aside from any bug, wheel, prep work that is done - just the central soap process on the car and feeding the wraps/mitters.

I've heard that the low ph is supposed to be better for glass/chrome/overall shine and drying setup and the hi ph better on road film, but if I'm wondering if that applies only to touchfree washes. With a full friction system, won't a well-lubricated body soap still do well on the film even if it is low ph?

Any thoughts appreciated.

12 years ago we started going hi/lo with a neutral lubercating soap in the middle feeding mitters and wraps. Worked great improved our drying. 5 years ago we went lo/hi/lo. Low ph pre soak High ph lubercating soap for the wraps and mitters. The new lo ph triple foam just prior to rinse. Basic wash gets one product (white) higher packages get all thee. Now we get cleaner, good depht of shine and dryer cars.

During bug season you might want to switch to a high pH presoak to help softener them so they can be removed easier.

Good advice - thank you. We generally take care of the bug removal in the prep with a hi ph bug-off product applied and removed manually to the nose, windshield and backs of the side view mirrors.

Just wanted to see if there was much of a difference in the road film removal on the general painted body with the hi or lo ph.

Thanks again.

Make sure your drying is still okay if you make the switch. If it isn't you might consider a low pH shampoo for your second step to lower the surface pH.
