Hello,

I am writing to see if anyone has a solution to XRS vinyl windows panels that have become foggy. I have tried many cleaning solutions with to no avail. My door have not been used during the summer and fall months, and came down foggy after months of no use.

Thoughts?

I've been told from Gallup Doors, who use the same vinyl and clear panels, that this absolutely the stuff to use, works heads and tails better than anything else:

I have not tried it yet myself. Although now that you reminded me about it, I think I might buy some and try it out.

I was told by Airlift and have used Nu Wall (mixed weak) and wheel cleaners (acid). Both worked fine. I just make sure we rinse the heck out of them when finished.

Foggy vinyl windows may be caused from UV as well as mold and algae growth (white powder look).

Cleaning with acid may solve problem but practice is intrusive because it removes oil in panel (vinyl or polycarbonate) which may exacerbate problem.

If mold, clean with mild solution of bleach, and then replenish the oil in panel.

For example, some drivers use olive oil to polish the lens in instrument panels.

I use Lemon Pledge (yellow aerosol can) to clean, replenish and protect the windshield on my motorcycle.

When I was a detailer, I used Pledge to de-fog the vinyl windows on convertible tops and Jeeps.
