Getting a merchant account set up?

Has anyone else had issues lately with getting a credit card merchant account? I had a posting a little while ago mentioning one of the sponsors here that was having an unusually hard time getting one set up. Yesterday, another customer had the same experience with the same company. I've known this company for a long time, and untill this, they were always top shelf. So I wanted to know if Hamilton, American Changer, and ICS are also having a difficult time. I know the regulating agencies changed the rules of setting up an account, but this doesn't seem right.
