I have to go and see if I can straighten up one of these systems that was installed by a local moron. I'm guessing there are mainly installation issues as GinSan generally makes decent equipment. Are there any issues any of you with this sysem have experienced?

Make sure to use cat5 shielded cable, Make you watch how you run it IE high voltage cable,I use EZ RJ45 cat 5 conn, Use a net gear router and give fixed Mac address to each CCDC. If you would like send me an IM and i will get you my number if you have any questions, I have a bunch of these in the field, What state are you in?

Thanks for the tips. I sent a PM also. After visiting the site I saw many plain errors. I wish all my competitors were this dumb.

If you are to use STP cables (Shielded Twisted Pair), you also need to use Cat5 connectors that have sheilding to them like the following;
and Ethernet switches that have this too.

If you use the EZ RJ45 cat 5, they are not shielded, therefore the shielding will act as an antenna and potentially induce more stray voltages into the pairs and causing interference problems.

Also, the protective shield should only be bonded at one end, or it can create a ground loop that could cause problems from connection problems to frying equipment if the grounding potential is different.
