Ginsan multitron rejecting coins

I'm wondering if anyone out there has experience enough to help me with an issue with our Ginsan Multitrons installed in 3 ss bays. They have only been in service for a few months. They have been used frequently with no problems at all but on a 3 occasions I have been notified by a customer or discovered myself that they are rejecting coins (both dollar coins and quarters). Again it is a rare occurrence and overall we are very happy with them. I'm wondering if there is a way to turn down the sensitivity? I have dixmor 7 timers and a remote (if that helps at all). Each time we have had a problem we have opened the meter box and opened the side of the multitron to clean the coin path with isopropyl alcohol. It seemed to have helped but I thought that others may have experience with this and could maybe offer some advice? Thank you in advance.

There's no adjustment for sensitivity. You might try re-learning the coins you're taking, and make sure with the quarters you use a wide range of years, as long as you don't include a 1964 or 1972 quarter or a silver one. Multitrons can be very hit-or-miss on how well they work.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Ginsan Multitron coin acceptors are crap!! If they are still on warranty send them back, cut your losses and buy another coin acceptor. I’ve had good luck with the Parker Slugbuster II with the EZ door on the side. I know some operators have had problems with them but in our case we’ve had almost no problems with them, some are 25 years old and still working.
