Hello,
SS car wash with ginsan sensotron that keeps returning quarters as deposited after coin jam was un-jammed. I have 2 bays that were jammed with coins, both have been freed up but coins as deposited just return. Signed frustrated.
Agree with Mep have you tried to either take the sensotron out or get under it with a small light to look up and inside. Had a similar situation only to find a qtr still jammed up inside the unit
Good point I will attempt to look up into it and or take the sensotron out. I had cleared all visible coins and assumed all was clear since each coin deposited fell thru the return. Thanks for the advice.
Didn't find any coins in coin path used flashlight and probe. Only returns coins. Anything to be reset ? Other bay is not recognizing coins to reduce the amount needed to deposit. Always says deposit 75 cents. Other bay as stated only returns coins.
Did you leave the sample coin in it? Check the wires that go to the solenoid on the side. Hold the gate open to see if coins drop through where they should. If none of this helps, swap the acceptor to another bay.
There are parts of the coin path you cannot see even with a flashlight. Coin acceptors jam for a few reasons: foreign matter, damaged coins, mis-alignment, and general filth. If you have power to the unit, take it out and clean it thoroughly(see attached tech sheet). 90ish% of the time that gets them working. If they still don't work they could need repair. If they are less than 15 years old the cost is $50 per unit. Older than that, toss them.
We have similar coin mechs (Parker) that accept dollar coins & quarters. Usually any problems are taken care of with blowing tiny specks of lint on the coin path.
