Hamilton 2000 $5 input Stuck error code

I have the Hamilton C2000 changer that is giving me an error code for a stuck $5 input and keeps going out of order. It will change $1 bills correctly still. Any suggestions on how to fix this or what to check?

It could be a couple of things, bad wiring harness, bad controller or a bad validator. Most of time it’s a problem with the validator and they are and not serviceable in the field. The only you can do is replace the validator with a spare validator and send the bad one in for repair. What model and version validator are you using? C-2000 is the model of the controller not the model of the bill changer.

It is a Hamilton Gold Line 1200FL Validator Version XEv3.60. I believe the last time it was serviced was the end of June and we are not an excessively busy car wash here.

I’d do the easiest thing first and swap out the validator with another validator, if it works then you know it’s the validator. Do you have another validator? You could also check the wiring harness up around the plug that plugs into the validator. The XE validator with the version 3.60 software is the current software.

Thanks for the input Randy, I am relatively new to the car wash business but I will have one of my techs out to work on this and try swapping the validator out first and let you know how everything works out when everything is squared away!
