hamiliton ACW credit card reader reboot problem. My CRC will through fits and reboot over and over. you can hear the beeping on every restart. When consulting hamiliton they tell you to disconnect the plug, bend it to tighten the connection and reinstall it. The connector on the CRC can be purchased at radio shack. I believe it is a low quality plug. Has anyone replaced this plug with another one, or sent it to a shop to have the plug replaced with another one?

Are we talking about a ACW-4/5? It sounds to me like your CRC might be the problem. I'd turn off the power and open to pins a little bit to tighten up the connection and if that doesn't solve the problem then send in the CRC for repair. A word of warning, the CRC's are very expensive to repair.

Try a new power supply for the CRC. For whatever reason when this happens to us a new power supply seems to fix it. We started abandoning the Hamilton power supplies and started using higher quality DC supply for the CRC and that has helped a lot.
