Hamilton ACW4 down

My ACW4 is down. Iowa Changers validator gives me an "inhibited" error message. Nothing I have explains what that means. Put that validator and stacker in my other changer they work. Vise versa no go.

I do not have a manual, doesn't look like they're on the Hamilton site anymore

What does it say on the display? Push the yellow button on the controller and look at the display, the error should be displayed. Then push the yellow button again so it will show "Error acknowledged "

Yea, I'm not thinking today.

Thought it showed something different on the display for an error.

Stacker time out, what normally causes that?

thanks

It means it started the stacker motor running and never got a signal that it completed its circuit.

The girl said she had got three dollars in when it quit. If she kept trying to feed it a bad bill would that cause the stacker problem?

Turn off the power. Plug and unplug the harness from the validator and the Stacker a few times, this will help clean any corrosion off the pins on the plugs. Check the stacker pusher plate to make sure it is going all the way back up after it stacks a bill. It could also just be a flute, a onetime error. To answer your question about trying to feed in a bad bill No it shouldn’t have any bearing on a “Stacker Time Out” error. How long have you owned this ACW?

No, the stacker wouldn't try to run just by a bad bill being fed in over and over.

Were all the bills stacked properly? Did the unit return to service after you reset it? It could have been an errant code - it's not unusual.
