installing a hamilton goldline in front of our touchless. we are in alberta and i was wondering how the cold weather will
affect it.I had a cover built that has room above the goldline for a heater. the front is facing north does it need to be protected from
the weather somehow too? there is another goldline in our town and our customers say that it always gives them trouble when they try to wash there. mostly wont accept there credit cards. Mine has cc and tap debit as 80percent of my customers pay with debit.
Very worried about installing in winter but its ready to go.Anybody in the northern states have experience to share info. thanks.

I live in a very cold area of Idaho and have not had any trouble with my Hamiltons ACWs due to cold weather. I do have some Hamilton change machines that occasionally have the coin shoots fill with blowing snow. I put some small 1500 watt ceramic cube heaters inside the change machines and set them on low heat settings and no more problems. When you put your ACws in have the electrician wire in a GFI 120v circuit inside the cabinet. Then you can run your ACW and a heater off the same circuit.

Most of the newer Goldline ACW’s have a GFI receptacle installed. Like Soap said it’s not a bad idea to have a small ceramic cube heater inside the ACW to help keep down the moisture and the internal components warm. What validator are you using? Mars I hope. Do you use the chip pin card reader system in Canada?

Hi Randy
yes it has a mars validator. It has the chip card reader.Debit tap.has everything! Have value cards ready just want it to work!! We have a kesseltroncis code reader now and are fleet customers like the simplicity of just entering a code. Can you use a code on the goldline or the value card need to be swiped with each wash? We have the dan system to go with it.

The GFI receptacle in the Goldline isn't hooked up to anything.

The Goldline has a heater, but you won't need it if you run a Mars validator.

Combat, since you have chip and pin & tap, are you processing with Payment Express?
I have 3 older Goldlines with strip readers that I'm considering upgrading to chip and pin. Hamilton says I have to switch processors to Payment express. Are you up and running with them? if so, how has the reliability been?

Regarding the cold, the only issues I have is if it's below -15c and the undercarriage spray blows onto the goldline buttons, they can some times stick. Same thing with my bay DTT cc reader stop buttons. A little warm water frees them.
If I built again, Id angle the pay stations away from the bay entrances, or place them further back.

cheers
