Heat Cable question

So I just installed two new raychem heat cables. To make sure the electric was correct I fired them up. However can both cables were in coils. I ran them for about 10 minutes. Will this have any adverse effects on the cable long term? New to this, so thanks!!!

Shouldn't be a problem. Raychem advertises the cable is self regulating. It should not overheat....Mine gets to about 110-115°....Doesn't matter if it's only on for a minute or 20 days! Always the same temp! I have electronic temp sensors attached to the cable in the trough so I can tell if its working when activated....

Its just a cheap electronic thermometer with a temperature probe.... Here is a link to something similar on Ebay. $6.99 with free shipping.

Here is a picture of mine. I have 2 of them. One on both sides of the Er with the sensor probe laying in the trough. It also monitors inside temp of the Er. Dual temp output.
