My 75 year old Mom lost her house to hurricane sandy - the foundation is cracked and the house shifted, water damage is incredible. It's condemned, we're currently shopping for a demolition company. (No, she does not have flood insurance). It is amazing how much power water has.
Mom is currently staying at a friend's house (theyre in florida at the moment), trying to figure out where to live, and trying to figure out how badly this mucks up her plans to retire in a couple years.
Anyhow I thought you might like to see a couple short videos my brother took on his iphone the morning after the storm. Keep in mind that AFTER the water receded and AFTER the tide went out, he had to wade through a mile of water to get to her house.
