hydrominder filter

Hello, I was cleaning this filter (see pic) inside the hydrominder tanks and this one from tire cleaner just came off. I guess it was almost broken. also noticed my presoak and hp soap detergent tank don't have them. Is it a big deal to not too have them? I realize that trash can get stock on the plungers (Making it left open and will drain all the chemical over night, lol) and check valves (And then high pressure water comes all the way back and blows out ur system, lol) but is it happening very often? you can see that its broken from the metal screw part so no way to fix it?

It looks like the plastic part is screwed into a brass fitting which has been eroded thin by the tire cleaner. If that's the case you'll need to extract the rest of whatever fitting is still in there before you can put a new strainer in it. The filter is likely fine, just replace the fitting with a plastic or stainless one.

What Mep Says +1

This looks like the strainer you have. Kind-of-pricey but looks like it has more filtering capacity over a basket strainer.

This is the strainer I use in all my hydrominder tanks.

I can see benefits to the style you have, but would have to make sure there is float clearance. Some tanks don't have the clearance, so would need to use the basket strainers above.

These are common in the old jim Coleman chemcial tanks. They are made by Hydro. I started using a pvc 3/4 female to 1/2” male adaptor instead of the brass. The brass always gets brittle from constant contact with the chemicals, especially anything acidic.
