Too much
soap is kinda easy.several factors potentially at play depending on your pump station though.
One of the first things i try to do for almost any self serve problem is determine if it is a global problem (all bays) or a single bay problem. But anyway, Here's some possible solutions:
- if you have soap flowmeters you can turn them down.
- if you have a restriction somewhere in the water supply line, you can open it up. This may be an intentional restriction done by a previous owner by partially closing a water inlet, usually coming from a water tank. (ball valve). When you partially close a valve you increase the suction pressure on the soap line, drawing more product.
- Some old systems may have a three way valve that is malfunctioning and partially closed. it will need to be replaced
- some systems have an inlet strainer that needs cleaning.
- if all the above checks ok and the valves are completely open, move to a smaller hydrominder tip.
Keep in mind that if you change a water restriction in a bay to decrease
soap flow, it will also affect wax flow and that may need to be addressed too to compensate for the change in suction pressure on the wax lines.
Lately I've gotten to where I try to run my ball valves wide open and just strengthen the
soap and wax solutions in the hydrominder tank. I feel like it's healthier for the pump and should increase both seal and head life to have unrestricted water flow. Also while you're going through the system clean the hydrominder tank strainer.
