IBA Camera?

Well-known member
I have Hikvision cameras in my IBA bays that were installed in March. The water is already getting inside them. Does anyone have a recommendation for an IP based camera that will work in an IBA enviornment?

Eric H. my friend,

We have Panasonic housings (I believe IP67) in our bays that have windshield wipers that were put in way back in 1982. I do not have an IBA but just thinking out loud ... it seems like a more advanced waterproof housing could possibly be a good fit. Also of added value could be the ability to link the wiper operation with some part of the IBA's control.

Good to hear that I am not the only one going in the direction of higher resolution IP cams.

I just purchased the Hikvision 4mp version http://amzn.to/2cXZEGd for my house. I am wondering.... if this wall mount would have helped? Something like this one? http://amzn.to/2cXZMpg This camera is also IP66.

But the mounting screws go through the base of the camera (might not have been sealed well). Not sure how your old Hikvision dome was?

That is the wall mount I have. AS you said, we think the water is getting in thru the screw wholes. There is a Silica Gel pack inside the housing to help with moisture control.
My vendor is working with Hikvision to figure out what to do but I am hoping someone here has a proven solution

I purchased this model also 2CD2542FWD-IS .... It has a mounting base which is a totally different design. But I will check when I get home.

So far testing these cameras they are great.... great picture and the best phone app. Also being self contained is great.

Do you use a NVR?

This model has only 2 holes through the base.... which I guess is better. These holes are outside of the rubber gasket though. This camera comes with a plastic mounting bracket. I was thinking it did not have holes in the camera base though.
