Who has in bay dryers? What kind? Were they worth it?

Installed Diskin around 11/1 in 2 Bays. Have about 20 Hours usage on each. While we have had some great busy days not sure if cold weather is not the time when we will see more or less usage. So, I figure roughly a penny a second figuring in Bonus time. That is roughly $36.00 / hour. I am guessing with booms and Install they were about $3000 each If I get to 100 hours each in first year - definitely worth it. 50 hours my mean it's worth it if maintenance is nominal.

If you have count up credit card? Get blowers!! They are a must with this combo. We see people try to blow every droplet off car with the things all the time. When they are fighting a timer beeping not so much. We put Diskin blowers in some of our bays and plan on adding to all bays hopefully by the end of the year.

I've regularly seen people use my air shammees in the rain. Best function I've added.

No, it's much quicker and easier to clean out truck beds with the HP Rinse.

No, they try to use the FB to sweep it out.

Air Shammee.Count up CC. Started with 1 bay. Added 2 more. It,s a must. They get used sometimes more than the foam brush.

So everyone uses Air Shammee? It definitely seems to be the market leader. I would be concerned about the nozzles getting damaged constantly. Anyone tried different nozzles? How do you keep people from pulling them off? A wash near me has a Carolina Pride blower that has a stainless nozzle that I like. It looks fairly indestructable.

I bought 3 Air-Shamees that were used, but in good shape. Will install soon. The owner had them for 3 yrs & LOVBED them, but remodeled to a tunnel wash. he said the old nozzles were not very good & all 3 of these had upgrade "Premier" nozzles...fwiw

What are the dimensions of the unit? I want to see if I can mount some on the center columns in my bays. My walls don't go up all the way to the roof.

I have the diskin mounted in the attic. I did it primarily for aesthetics. Usage has exceeded my expectations.

Yes, some people spend a LOT of time blowing every little drop of water off their car. I have played with it a bit with my car. You can get 75% of the water off the car in maybe four minutes if the water is beading on it. That is what generally recommend to customers if they ask how to use it. To get 95% off my car it takes close to fifteen minutes. I see many still doing that, but I have count up that shows $$$ purchased so if they're happy, I'm happy.

I think you could make them pretty easily. Mine are just 2 vac/blower motors in a stainless case with a mosmatic boom. i bought them used but it would be simple to make if you're handy.

Thanks everyone for the input. I have thought about building my own but honestly I like the big single blower setup like the Air Shammee 2 or the Carolina Pride units. Anyone know where to get those for a reasonable price? I was looking at the inflatable bounce house blowers as a possible contender.

The bounce house Blowers will not have anywhere near enough pressure. You should go find and try a blower made out of two vac motors by a manufacturer because you can do that yourself. Compare the performance of that to the units you’re talking about and then report back so we will all know!

Installed Diskin with Booms in November. Vac Hose attached directly to boom end with hose clamp broke at this point. Thinking of using a Vac nozzle swivel cup for the attachment so the steel boom isn't pressing against hose. Anyone have any other strain relief ideas?
