JC 2.0 Wheel brushes

Has anyone repaired the drive on these? Motor turns but the brush slips when pressure is applied to the brush. I have replaced them before during warranty, so never has a change to take one apart, are they repairable????

I don't know how the WW is set up (I have Mark VII), but it sounds like your brush is turning on it's shaft. Look for a stripped or missing key where it attatches to the motor. Just this week I had one fall off of one of my machines. The key had stripped and was gone. It had most likely been loose and wobbling for quite some time and ruined the hub and motor shaft. I stuck it back together with a new key in the damaged parts and then had a welder come in and just weld the hub to the motor shaft, since I had nothing to lose. It doesn't run true, but that dirty wheel doesn't care.

Im going to pull it off this morning and tear into it. Something has to be stripped.

Nope the gearbox is pressed onto the motor. You need to get a new one and replace the entire assembly. BTW I have JC WW 2.0 wheel brushes (the entire assembly, frame, motor, piston, brush, just unbolted off machine) for sale, 3 in excellent shape, 1 with a bent shaft and tweaked frame (you can get the frame straighted at a machine shop or auto place sometimes, the shaft will have to be replaced) if you are interested.

It is the gearbox that is worn out. The gearbox and motor are sold as one unit and it is made by Baldor. I have also had trouble with the gearboxes on the wheel scrubs not lasting very long. Coleman not has a new way to mount the wheel scrubs and there is a retrofit available. I did this about three months ago so not sure if it will help or not. The wheel scrubs are great but they do need to address the durability of the gearbox. Good Luck !

JC, Wheel Brush Motors and Gearboxes

I just changed one motor/gearbox, and took the old one apart. The gearbox was completely out of gearoil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is what I think made the motor burn up. I suggest everyone that has these to check and make sure the gearboxes are kept full of gearoil! I also repaired a drivemotor gearbox recently, I found there was NEVER a key put in the keyway from the manufacturer, (Baldor). Thats why the cw would quit in the middle of a wash, when the LH drive kept going and the RH did not.....
