JCC Vacuum

Interesting enough this is the first real time I have had to work on the JCC vacuum other than change the motors out.

Issue I have is, deposit quarters in, timer counts down but the motors do not come on. I do have power to the unit. There is a small black part in between the on-off switch and what appears to be a transformer. That black part "hums".

Anyone have thoughts on the problem?

I believe the small black part you are referring to is a mercury relay. Check to see if you have power going to and coming out of the relay. If you have power going to and none coming out, I would guess that it is bad.

I'm having the same issue with my one of my vacs.

i have power to unit, and from merc relay.

is there something else could it be?

If you have power from the mercury relay and the motors aren't running, the motors are bad.
