Our company developed its branding over the years. We chose a mascot, logo and colors and name. Over the years we have struggled somewhat with sign makers, business card suppliers, newspaper ad folks, and marketers.
Often the 'experts' want to change our colors, revamp our message and even images. This gets frustrating at times but as we move on forward in business, we are finding ourselves better able to control our company's branding.
Have you had similar experiences? For example, we use a highway style font called ClearView along with colors red brown white for printed marketing materials as well as our physical buildings' colors. Sign guys almost always want to design us signs of bubbly blues and greens and tropical-looking this or that. My guess is that they figure that's what a 'carwash' sign should be; tropical, Waikiki feel etc.
So not sure if this is a question or rant, but it seems worth considerin: is anyone trying to 're-brand' you when you don't ask them to?
