Just in case you are like me and never read those endless notices that come with your statements, you might want to start reading them.
With this month's statement was a "notice of changes to your account". I just happened to look at it and something made me read it.
Effective June 1, they will be assessing and inactivity fee of $5 a month, because of inactivity. If you don't have at least 5 transactions a month totaling at least $500, it will trigger the $5 fee. And if you have an interest bearing account with less than $5000 in it, they will drop also drop the interest to .05%.
I have an account where I am parking money in a non-interest account. So are using my money for free yet feel that they need to clip me for another $5 a month.
I fired off an email to the CEO, and I get a computer generated email telling me that they really love my business and I should call a 800# to discuss any issues that I have. To date and I don't expect anyone other than a computer to contact me. Thankfully, there a lot of banks and credit Unions to move the account to. It's no wonder Key Bank needed to take TARP, and according to a news release hope to pay it back someday.
