Kuri-tec coil hoses

I use Kuri-tec coiled hoses for my foam brushes. This is the only brand I have used that does not lose its coil over time. The last hose assemblies I bought came from Car Wash Service Express in NC but the company went out of business after the owner was killed in a bad drug deal. Anybody else know a source for Kuri-Tec coiled hose?

What do those hose assemblies cost--They look nicer than my plain straight hose (Approximately). The website didn't bring up a price.

I think I paid around $35. for them. The ones I have are about 4 years old and they still have not stretched out like other brands I have used. Dultmeier's catalogue says they sell them but when I called, they actually carry a different brand.

Are these light enough so as not to slap all over the car as the customer moves around it? We went back to 1/4" straight after the last version lost its coil but I don't care for the look and slapping can be a problem.

The Kuritec hoses have a smaller diameter coil than the other coil hoses I have used and maybe this helps too. Much less slapping than straight hoses I have tried. I still have not found a distributor. I guess I will call Kuriyama and see if they can point me to one.

Am I missing something? What is the problem with the hoses slapping the cars? In my 40 years around this biz and owning five washes I have not had one complaint for the BB hose slapping the cars and they slap all the time.

I've never had a complaint either, but I do cringe when I hear that sound. I use blue Insta-Grip hose which won't mark a painted surface. This makes me think about the recent post where someone wanted to spend $1,000 a bay to try to solve the same problem by changing to dual ceiling booms.

Maybe customers expect the hose to slap the car but if I can avoid or reduce it by using a different hose, I am definitely going to pursue it. I am going to try any improvements I can make for little or no costs.

New dual booms would be nice but too much $$$.

Mel, it seems that cutting the hose would be a problem. Have you experienced this?
