Has anyone had a problem with laser 4000s going to long or wide when the weather is cold(5to10 degrees) because the bay is steamy, foggy from the wash? I have tryed changing prox 30 and cable, replaced the really rusty pulse count flags that 30 reads, recalibrated ultra sonics, changed rear t bar eyes since it was going to the fullest extent to rear, replaced festoon cable, checked tire pressures, rollers for wear, and checked vt out, among various other things. One thing i did do was ran some washes without under carriage on several times and it measured fine? So does this mean my ultra sonics are weak or just the weather to blame?I do have the new style ultra sonics ready to install, have old style in all washes now, but want to make sure before i do that.Oddly enough i have 2 out of 6 washes within 20 miles of each other, both with small bays doing the same thing.Any ideas? thanks for looking, Chris

If your machine is going long its because the t bar eyes cant see each other.
Try turning up the gain on the amps for the t bars in the bridge they may help.
Make sure the eyes are clean and ice free also.

as for going wide, i could see where severe fog will dampen ultrasound pulses.
If the unit was weak it may be an issue. I would see if it measures when the fog is not present.

If you are using hot water on undercarrage turn off the hot water this will greatly reduce the amount of fog in the bay.

If you have any other questions let me know

Mike
